A recognized motorcycle expert told me about an international conspiracy involving motorcycle manufacturers with a plan to take over the motorcycle industry by selling young riders dangerously uncontrollable motorcycles. I just finished watching a You Tube video of Casey Stoner racing.
Man, the guy is amazing beyond belief. At almost any point in a tight turn, he can easily touch the ground with his hand, and he could use knee pucks on his elbows.
Non-motorcycle riders can't really appreciate the amount of grip force on the tires to get over this far. Just thinking about it is enough to get your heart pumping a little more.

The motorcycle industry and riders all across the country are looking forward to Sturgis, and wondering who is going to attend. Factors include the aging of the V-Twin riding population, the continued downturn in the economy, and the length of the current recession.
Of course, once everyone gets there, none of this matters. Sturgis is the great granddaddy of riding events, and the most mandatory of any.

I just had a problem with suits from a tailor I have been using for more than 20 years. Some of my measurements changed, but when I got the suits, they were way off in areas that we didn't change. For instance, the jackets were way too long. Believe me, I'm not getting taller.
In a similar vein, my new glasses have to go back. They are just unwearable. The left lense only works if I tilt my head one way, the right if I tilt it a different way. It is impossible to see clearly from ... Read more

I just sent my favorite cordura jeans down to Wayne Boyer at Motorport. Every time I deal with him, he blows my mind. No matter how high my expectations, he exceeds them.
I just wanted a little futzing with the jeans, and leather to deal with a hot exhaust that tends to melt the inside of the right leg.

I like Scuderia West. Their shop has one of the best thought out stocks of merchandise out there, and they carry a lot of quality gear that is hard to find elsewhere.
For me, the start of riding season is marked by their spring open house. As a fan of Michael Czysz, I would really like to see him get some racing satisfaction.
Everyone says the bikes are fantastic. Certainly the engineering is way forward. But so far, they just haven't had the success that many would like them to see.
So it will be very cool to watch their Isle of Man effort this year. The bike has a carbon fibre frame, 220 horsepower, and is under 350 pounds.

Nice Way to Wreck a Ride
This week was a bad one for me because it brought up the issue of discrimination against motorcycle riders.
